Vovo Telo Milpark
Helen finds her new favourite word: boulangerie (that is french for bakery), as well as her new favourite brunch spot in a little cafe called Vovo Telo
There is nothing quite as lovely and decadent as going out for brunch on a warm Sunday morning. I have found my latest favourite Jozi brunch spot.
Vovo Telo is a new (ish) bakery/restaurant in the uber trendy, designer shopping precinct, 44 Stanley Ave in Richmond.
This cute little boulangerie (that is french for bakery and my new favourite word) serves organic, stone-ground flour breads and French patisserie along with a variety of gourmet breakfasts, salads and sandwiches.
I had poached eggs with coriander aoli, cherry tomatoes and ciabatta bread. Deeeelicious. My friend had poached eggs with brie cheese, ham, tomato and basil on ciabatta. I had to fight off the order envy. And then just to be sure that I could give an accurate review, we shared the flourless chocolate cake served with clotted cream. It is orgasmic! I have subsequently had dreams about that chocolate cake.
The service leaves much to be desired but who is in a rush on a Sunday morning anyway? And our waiter was very charming so whenever he returned from his long absences, all was forgiven.
So, if you are anything like me and you love lazy Sundays and delicious, good quality food, you should definitely check out Vovo Telo.
