There's a shop within a shop in Melrose Arch. It's a sneaky little spot inside a clothing store. Naked Coffee's face brick wall and cool logo go with the overall sleek design. A beautiful, black Smeg fridge stands tall next to a mini one that houses salads served in Consol jars - kind of overdone, sure, but cute nonetheless. It helps that they look delicious; I spied quinoa, corn and lots of greens.
There were a couple of good-looking sarmies as well, some even made with pink/red bread (beets and not food colouring, I hope), displayed on a wooden barrel. Take your pick from options like smoked salmon with chumichurri, BBQ pulled pork and zucchini with mint and hummus. Naturally, there are plenty of treats that go perfectly with coffee: marshmallows, cakes, butternut brownies and blondies.
The place is pretty small but it doesn't feel cramped at all; they've somehow managed to utilise the space very well. There are a couple of tables if you're up for a cake and coffee date or an out-of-office work session. If you're rushed or are just in the mood for something on-the-go, you don't even have to set foot inside; there is a service window outside the shop where you can place your order and be gone in a flash.
Pop in for a sandwich, some organic tea, chai or a smoothie. Of course, if you're just there for the coffee and reckon Naked makes it well, they've got plenty beans that you can walk away with.
Check it our for a quick caffeine fix, a bite to eat or a place to sit down, enjoy a meal and a treat and watch the people of Melrose Arch go by.
