Lucky Bread Company

Lucky Bread Company
At the end of 2012, something magical happened: Pretoria's trendy coffee roaster TriBeCa Coffee (see our review here) partnered up with The Bread Gypsy to create the Lucky Bread Company. The result? A gastronomic explosion.
The Lucky Bread Company is an exciting gourmet-style eatery located in the most random spot imaginable - under the escalators in the middle of a walkway in Brooklyn Mall. At first it seems like the strangest placement possible, but it works. The brightly lit spot, with its myriad lights and rustic retro design, is a delight to the eye.
As you approach, you are immediately struck by the delicious aroma of roasting coffee and freshly baked bread. The space doubles as a mini bakery and you can purchase olive or sundried tomato sticks, sweet potato sourdough Ciabatta (my personal favourite) and a whole range of artisan breads. Don't even get me started on the pastries; let's just say cranberry lemon swirl frosted buns and leave it at that.
TriBeCa is well known for its amazing coffee, and with Lucky Bread Co they've taken it one step further by stocking an array of single origin coffees from around the world, from Kenya, to Ethiopia, to Brazil. Their baristas have mad skills; how does a cold brewed hazelnut café latte sound?
When it comes to meals they really don't disappoint; gourmet sandwiches and typical lunch fare (all on that wonderful artisan bread). And to top it off? A double thick, salted caramel milkshake. Goodbye diet.
