If you’re looking to beat the heat and have a great day out with family and friends, look no further. Jozi’s got a brand-new water park and it is big.
Located in Muldersdrift’s Mogale City, Happy Island Waterworld is home to high-speed slides, super tubes, massage pools, and two large wave pools – the biggest of their kind on the continent.
Having opened to the public in December 2018, Happy Island markets itself as a fun and exciting waterpark for kids, adults, and family outings. According to TimesLive the park took 18-months to build, at a cost of around R500m, and has 15 rides and slides. As far as current prices go, R199 gets the adults in, while kids get in for R99.
In addition to its twin wave pools, main attractions include The Typhoon, a one-of-a-kind giant tornado funnel that sucks you down into the water below, The Gravity Loop, a near-vertical looped slide which sees you reaching speeds of 60km/h, and The Behemoth Bowl, a four-person tube ride which sends you spinning around a giant bowl before dropping into the pools below.
Check out some of the other rides and attractions on their website.
