A multidisciplinary project space at Bad Ease

A multidisciplinary project space at Bad Ease

                             Posted: Jan 27 2020

BadEase is an experimental multidisciplinary project space and residency made up of 3 core elements: an inhouse kitchen (Plump Kitchen), radio (ChiNdanga! Radio), accommodation and exhibition space (BadEase Residency).

Residency Accommodation

FOOD . SPACE . SOUND . ART

Private Catering & Functions

Multi-media Production House

The core elements (on permanent residency) will be running a number of projects through the space, the first of which is the artkitchenLAB; a launch of the space and pop-up restaurant orientated around food and art, where the kitchen will be infusing dishes from different regions, while the radio begins to explore itself in a non-traditional format, that sees the infusion of literature and music.

Artists, researchers, chef's (to name a few) from various parts of the world are invited to use the space when on residency in Johannesburg to create, exhibit and sell work through the BadEase circuit that consists of an online store, as well as other galleries and venues throughout the city.

The radio will serve as the point of entry into the circuit, providing a platform for projects to be spoken about and marketed through the relevant radio show slots.

It’s an innovative idea that’s grabbing attention through Joburg and might become entrenched in our society if it kicks on. But for now, you can join them for the artkitchenLAB and experience something brand new and exciting.
