Soda Studio presents a June 16th Youth Day celebration: Mayibuye.
June 16th 1976 “was not a very good year”. A turning point in the epic South African story. A day that fueled the fight against oppression. A day that showed the depth, strength and brevity against a ruthless regime and ideology.
Musicians, poets, DJ’s and voices come together to energize this day. To mourn the past, celebrate what we have accomplished since and help be part of the solution to our new futures.
The afternoon will include talks relating to Youth Day. Live music performances and talks with musicians. June 16th related DJ sets as well as live painting experiences.
The show will be hosted by legendary radio and TV host Paul Mnisi AKA rude boy paul.
