Passion Deli is owned by two food lovers who decided that there is never enough "local is lekker" when it comes to food. They specialise in all sorts of 100-percent South African produce including over 200 gourmet products, cheeses, relishes, cold meats, homemade liver patès and tiramisus. You can also get crispy homemade bread from the Vovo Telo artisan wood-fired oven. With so many delicious goodies on offer I can't go on for fear my drool will wet your screen.
What's cool about Passion is the latest addition of tables where you can sit and chow down on a selection of decadent sarmies and sip on delicious coffee. The deli is more than a deli though. Every now and then, artists or photographers hold intimate exhibitions in the space. Sometimes it's left of centre, sometimes it's centre of left. These events almost always contain an endless selection of wines and boozey things, transforming this little haven into a nightspot of food and art.
On top of all of this, inside the deli is a small and intimate photographic studio, owned by Jade Reidy photography. She specialises in portraits, family shoots, products and lifestyle pictures. Check out the incredible photo light-boxes and canvasses on sale or pop in after a long Saturday lunch and ask for a pro photo shoot. It's that simple. Eat some cake while you wait.
Passion Deli is like a secret garden of yummy stuff where you can satisfy your tummy, your eye for art, your love for coffee and your need to be seen. Pop in. Spend some cash. You can even order a special homemade Gammon for that Xmas lunch you don't want to cook.
Passion Deli and Coffee Bar is on 4th Ave Parkhurst, opposite Full Stop Café.
