Hooters

Imagine a chilled-out sports bar with hot, vivacious, well-endowed women serving you an endless array of beer.  Most men would think they've died and gone to heaven.  Quite frankly, I had to keep reminding the men at Hooters that they were indeed still breathing.

Not to be mistaken for a strip club, Hooters at the Buzz in Fourways (rumoured to be the biggest in the world) is an American restaurant chain and the second of its kind in South Africa.  What makes this place so unique is the 'Hooters girls' (waitresses) who all seem to be flattery operated.  Clad in white tank tops and petite orange runner shorts, it's hard to decide what's tastier, the food or the service.  After spending an evening in a pool of drool, I think I got my answer to that.

Before the ladies start getting sceptical, I'd like to assure you that although it comes across as a tacky joint for men to perve in, the experience is one for both sexes. This place boosts more than just cleavage. Service is, in its own way, professional and the atmosphere is relaxed and fun.  I mean, it's not everyday that your waitress serves you while singing and dancing (you might want to ask for Cindy), and your order slip gets sent to the kitchen by means of a foofy slide.  Not to mention the small, blonde babe who carries five pints of a beer at a time.

The restaurant was completely packed, and it was surprising to find that the food was rather good.  Perhaps a bit greasy, but I did mention it's American heritage.  With a variety of seafood, burgers, and chicken wings on the menu, you can't go wrong; and you are bound to spend some time discussing how they cut their chips into 'curly fries', which, according to the menu, is done by computer?

This is definitely the place to go for a night out, a pervy drink with the boys or a boozy lunch with the work colleagues. Just try to close your mouth when you finally leave.

Hooters is at The Buzz Centre, 191 Douglas Drive, Fourways.

Things just get worse and worse for poor SA women. Very hard for them to get a job that does not require them to be the sexual entertainment in some way and get perved at and leched over. It is in the same category as a strip club, just the degree is different , the principle is the same. Shame on you for trying to promote this for women. Why are only women, refereed to only as girls, hired amd why are they dressed in shorts in the middle of winter What is more we all know that jugs and hooters is American slang for breasts.
