The Killers KILLED! (kinda)

I probably wasn't the most ideal candidate to review The Killers Jozi concert - let's just say I'm not really music savvy. My Ipod playlist hasn't changed in two years or so, and I think Dolly Parton does a fine rendition of 'workin' nine to five, what a way to make a livin' (don't judge me broe!)

But, old ed picked me, so you're stuck with my 'take', mate. So, without further ado... here's my post-mortem...
I really, really, really enjoyed the beer and donuts. They were by far the best part of the concert. FACT.

I only recognised three songs... 'I got soul, but I'm not a soldier' (love that track... very catchy number) and two others that I can't even remember now... but they were belted out right at the end (in other words, I had to plough through alot of beer and donuts before I got to shimmy and bounce around with the other rock 'n roll epileptics).

The lead singer, I think his name is Brandon Flowers, is super fine. And yes, he wore his trademark feathers for a bit. I think the guitarist is even hotter though -- in a sexy ugly Javier Bardem kinda way, if you know what I mean...
There were some cool pyrotechnic moments. Not as impressive as Diwaali you understand, but still some WOW'ish moments.
The bar made a KILLING. It killed even more than The Killers. The queues were atrocious. Thank god for boobs is all I'm willing to say on the matter.

The Dome is a non-smoking venue. No-one paid any heed to this rule.
Bimbos makes the best goddamn bacon and egg toasted sarmie in Joburg. Take my word for it. Oh, and they're licensed, so that's really thoughtful of them.

Check you at the next one kids... I'll be the confused looking one in the donut queue (be a dear and buy me a beer while you're at it, wontcha?)

The author attended the Thursday night concert and was hosted by the good squires at JHBLive.

The fact that the author avoided a straight forward, honest opinion...says it all. She believes if you can't say anything nice, find something you did like...even if it's not the point. I was there (and not in golden circle)...it was a CRAP concert. The band made no attempt to interact with the crowd. They talked us through a lame dicription of their journey to South Africa. Their overall performance was average and i truly believe the reason people hung around for the whole thing, was because they paid so damn much for the tickets! I was not one of them...3 songs MAX!

The killers killed their chances of coming back. Coming to Africa doesn't mean dropping your standards...infact we have brilliants muscicians and performers, this is where "soul" began "soldier"!
