Vovo Telo Bakery & Café
Wondering along 4th Avenue in Parkhurst on a Monday at around lunchtime, I was very happy to stumble upon the 'new kid' on the block, Vovo Telo. I was delighted to find something open for a quick lunch as most shops and cafes are closed on a Monday in Parkhurst.
The place has a very French Boulanger feel to it. I made sure I sat right next to the bread stand where I could salivate over the different freshly bakes breads. I opted to be very different and ordered the 'coconut' bread with my garden salad. And what a garden salad it was! The dressing was something out of this world that made a mere salad of lettuce, cherry tomatoes and parmesan shavings taste like something from heaven!
I am a big tea drinker and appreciate it when tea is served in a proper tea cup and tea pot. Well if you are like me you will love their teapots and teacups and want to steal them. I was there for over an hour and my tea remained warm in the tea pot for most of my stay.
They are big on presentation and I didn't see a plate in sight, only lovely wooden boards with Vovo Telo stamped on them. Now that's what I like, a place that uses some imagination and originality.
The breakfast menu is very intriguing with items on it such as Ricotta Hotcakes and Banana Maple porridge with apples and pears.
The menu and vibe is alluring.
