GoldBar

I haven't the foggiest idea why this place is called GoldBar: itistotally WHITE. I'm speaking of the dcor, not the clientele. As far as the clientele goes, I have no idea as we were the only people in the place (it seems its more of a lunch place than a dinner place what with the captive business in and around the design district). As I gaze around the entirely white interior, I am reminded of a badly-made sci-fi flick. Some people, even some of my close friends, like this "industrial chic" look. I guess I'm a bit more of a "colour and warmth" sort of person.  Mind you, the Tuppaware lampshades are really cool. Who would've thought!?

Once I'd settled into the fairly comfortable, little white booth, the little white manager asked me if I'd like to have a look at the little white cocktail menu which was placed on the little white table in front of me.

The cocktails were very good, my favorite being the Drunken Jelly Baby (note to self: always soak jelly babies in vodka before eating them). This place does have a good selection of interesting cocktails and shooters. The food was delicious but the portions were tiny! Call me a peasant but I'd rather a nice big bowl of pasta than a chic, perfectly-presented filet! The best part of the meal was the dessert: Tiramisu, beautifully presented and the right size for hungry little colourful me.
