Constitution Hill

Take a visit to Constitution Hill, the site of Joburg's notorious Old Fort prison complex. Stroll around Number Four, where criminals and political prisoners were held until 1983. Visit the evocative Mandela Cell in the Old Fort prison. Take a walk to the Women's Jail, where Winnie Madikezela-Mandela and Albertina Sisulu were held in custody, with many other defiant women.
When you've had enough of the struggle history, check out the Constitutional Court's art cache - there are some impressive pieces on display, and if you're lucky, you'll catch former Con Court Judge Albie Sachs giving one of his tours.
Finally, grab a spot of lunch at the Old Fort Coffee Shop. It's nestled amongst pretty lemon trees in a courtyard.
