Get Crafty At Fabric-a-Brac
Fabric-a-Brac is unlike any other store I’ve ever set foot in. You’d drive right past if you didn’t know where it was, so lucky for you, I’ll fill you in.
Make your way up 9th Street in Orange Grove and be on the lookout for a hidden little house that is home to an abundance of crafts.
The name’s a bit of a giveaway, but I’ll tell you what they sell anyway. You know, just to ensure we’re on the same page.
For starters, they have every imaginable pattern and shade of fabric – I’m talking paisley, Pokemon and shweshwe-inspired. They sell wool and oversized knitting needles. You’ll also find patches, perfect for adorning old school denim jackets, as well as all shapes and sizes of buttons. You name it, they’ve got it.
It’s quite an overwhelming experience, visiting this shop. Every time I go there, I have an uncontrollable urge to impulsively buy things I know I’ll never use, like googly eyes, fabric glue and do-it-yourself tapestry kits.
If ever you feel like getting crafty, walk right on in and chat to the friendly owner. She’ll give you all the advice you need and you’ll leave itching to get started on a new project.
Fabric-a-Brac is great for those moments when you feel like being creative but are lacking in the inspiration department. The cure is to go wild at this haberdashery haven. Trust me. Oh, and what makes it even more appealing is that the prices are pretty easy on the pocket. How about that?
Just go see it for yourself. It’ll make a knitter out of you yet! Here’s to getting crafty.
