Constitution Hill is the home of the Constitutional Court as well as the site of the Old Fort Prison Complex where political prisoners, including Mahatma Ghandi and Nelson Mandela were held during apartheid. There are guided tours throughout the complex daily. There are also regular exhibitions, prgrammes and events held at the site. The site is open daily to the public from 9am to 5pm on weekdays with the last tour scheduled for 4pm; on weekends and public holidays from 9am to 2pm with the last tour scheduled for 1pm; and on Wednesdays, when the site closes at 1pm.
