Afropunk Festival is Coming to Jozi

If you have New Year plans anywhere other than Constitution Hill in Jozi, I’m afraid it looks like you’re going to have to cancel them. Afropunk Fest is coming to Johannesburg on December 30th for the first time ever and the lineup has us furiously wishing away these next few months.


Having made it debut in Brooklyn in 2005, the festival is known for promoting multiculturalism and diversity for people of all races, genders, colours, creeds and tastes.There is no hate welcome at this celebration of music, style, art, culture and food which has spread from not only its inaugural location in Brooklyn, but to London, Paris, Atlanta and now Joburg.

As far as tickets go, the powerhouse that is this festival gives you the option of either simply purchasing your ticket, or ‘earning’ your ticket.
