Rugby at Township TV Parks

Rugby at Township TV Parks

Last year's FIFA Soccer World Cup brought communities together with a jovial atmosphere and national excitement at being the host country.  Although the Rugby World Cup is being held in New Zealand, the Springboks have the whole country behind them and the SA Rugby Union (SARU) and Township TV have ensured this includes township communities.

According to Bua News (government news) SARU is setting up big screen televisions in 22 township venues across SA for the duration of the World Cup.  In addition to the screens, there will also be coaching clinics and Tag rugby for children and fans are encouraged to wear green and gold on Springbok match days.  TV parks will be in Diepsloot, Lenasia, Thokoza and Kwa Thema in Gauteng; KwaMashu and Umlazi in KZN and Khayelitsha in the Western Cape.  Click here for a full list of township venues.
