Not sure what to get up to this weekend in the city? As always, Joburg’s alive with new theatre, live music, exhibitions, parties, and film screenings to attend. Here are a few of JHBLive’s recommendations.
See Tracks at POPArt
A poignant story about a family, a father, a husband and a man who kept a secret for 60 years.
In this one-woman play based on true events, Maude excavates the life of her grandfather, Alan Sandham: She uncovers the layers of myth and memory and what he kept in the shadows.
Tracks was the commissioned work for the 2017 So Solo Festival at Wits Theatre, and ran at the National Arts Festival in 2018, as part of the STAGED Showcase presented by UJ Arts and Culture.

Look at some cats, but make it art
The Cat Show is a group exhibition featuring feline-inspired artwork from various artists. The exhibition offers a diverse collection of works, each responding to the theme of cats in a unique way - not only as artistic muse but as mystical and curious creatures, enigmatic and poised between the domestic world and their nocturnal realm. In association with Kitty and Puppy Haven, David Krut Projects is also running a campaign to accept the generous donations for the duration of the exhibition as a commitment to give back to our feline inspiration.
